Simultaneous preclinical PET-MRI at ultra-high field



Positron Emission Tomography (PET) is a powerful imaging technique that provides quantitative molecular information. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is another imaging modality that offers high-resolution structural data, as well as complementary functional and metabolite parameters. Thus, PET and MRI are both valuable tools for medical diagnosis, offering different but complementary information.

PET imaging for small animals is becoming increasingly important in the medical field, as it allows for the rapid screening and translation of novel molecular radiotracers. This technology is invaluable for researchers and clinicians, as it provides them with new and innovative methods to diagnose and test potential therapeutic interventions. We are proud to announce that we have developed the world's first retrofitted micro-sized PET-MRI system for multi-modal molecular imaging at 9.4 Tesla. This groundbreaking research project was made possible through a research partnership with the New York-based biotechnology innovator SynchroPET, Inc. The developed technology has the potential to revolutionize the drug development process and enable the discovery of new disease mechanisms.
